Review on JOBY Gorillapod 1K Stand: Lightweight Flexible Tripod for Mirrorless Cameras up to 1Kg (2.2Lbs) – Black/Charcoal by Tyler Bonnell

This is ridiculous. I understand these $3,000 cost $30 and wear out over time, but right out of the box this thing can't even hold less than 2kg! Each joint seems to have random tension, making it difficult to position and prevent wobble at the same time. / plate (65 g) = 1.8 kg. Tries to balance to try to distribute the weight, adjust the legs around, etc. the thing is constantly hanging from each leg (albeit at a different joint each time). I'm pretty sure they could make this junk ten times smaller and keep the same weight. this should be calculated for 1kg, not 3kg. Is it all bad or was mine used/defective?
