Mileage approaching 200,000 miles on an 06 TDI Jetta. The fan failed and I decided to try an aftermarket fan. They're probably the same anyway. It's been almost 6 months and less than 10,000 miles and the 'new' TCY fan makes a ticking noise at any speed. I believe he removed it to make sure there were no leaves or debris in the fan and put it back in place to keep the noise from going away. I could try taking it apart and seeing if it can be routed, but I recommend using a different third-party fan. That's a great price until it starts making an awful noise. Buyer Warning.
