I bought this to measure the length. It is good for a basic continuity check or schematic. Fails the length test. It usually overestimates length by 2-3 times actual length and varies widely between measurements. When calibrating for a medium length cable, the readings can be close to a cable of the same length, but are not appropriate for long cables. Example: calibrated for a known 50 foot cable, it can correctly measure 60 foot cable but not 100 foot cable. I tested it on several physically measured cables and a Datacom/Textron LanCat device. Not recommended for length testing, and if you only need continuity testing, buy a simpler/cheaper dedicated tester.
