The apartment I bought 10 years ago had a separate line and faucet for an old GE dual filtration system. However, I never bothered, I just drank from the tap. However, I was tired of buying bottled water here for others, so I decided to replace my old filters and get this thing working. It took a while to find compatible filters (these). They arrived and I was like oh my god they are too big. And they are big. But the screw-in thread around the perimeter fits perfectly. I assumed it was just more filter material inside that made them bigger. I screwed them in and then turned on the faucet for a few minutes to flush out the 10 year old bacteria. The first taste was amazing. Very shallow, odorless and clear water, absolutely tasteless. Hmm, I thought. I should have done this a while ago! I can no longer drink tap water without a filter. They're expensive, but I'll stick with these.
