Revainrating 3 out of 5

Liked the concept but bad design

First let me say this is a great product and does what it is supposed to do. I think the price is relatively fair, especially considering they gave a $100 discount when you bought it. The reason I gave that 3 stars is because I think it has a few design flaws that need to be fixed and then it could be a great product. For the record, the reason I bought this particular monitor set was because I wanted something larger than the Xebec monitors I originally wanted as they only have a 10 inch screen, not a 12 inch screen . TLDR: The product does what it is supposed to do at a reasonable price and it works. That's more than I can say for many products in this space. However, there were some design omissions, notably the screen opening when folded, the bracket wasn't knee-safe, and ridiculous cables. Pros: 1. It's a slightly larger screen than the other three screens I've come across for a typical laptop size under 15 inches. 2. It supports Mac OS, which some portable monitors don't support. [As a side note, if you have a new device with an M1 processor, this will not work without downloading DisplayLink Manager. It works natively with M1 Pro and M1 Max which support multiple external displays.] 3. The left screen fully rotates in the other direction and can be shown to those you contact if needed. 4. Overall, it does what it's supposed to and works. I had no problems with the functionality at all. 5. You get a variety of cables and accessories for any type of installation you need. It is well packed with many essentials. Cons: 1. When folded, the left screen is fully open. I'm very careful where to store them or how to pack them when traveling because I'm worried about the screen getting scratched. Screen protection, which is nice, but it's a major design flaw. There should be no backlight of the screen.2. They don't seem very secure when installed on a computer. Whether you move your laptop around, place it on your lap, or need to move at all, monitors will fall off your device or become very loose. There should be some kind of latch to make it more stable if you need to move it at all or need to use your laptop on your lap.3. The adjustable stand is a bit clunky, especially when you pull it out from the back of the case.4. Although the monitors support Full HD, there is no point in using this resolution when connecting to a laptop unless you are watching a movie or playing a game. The full 1920x1080 resolution is "reduced" significantly, so if you're using it for work, it can't be used at that resolution. Most likely you are using 1600x900 resolution which is still HD but not Full HD.5. The screen isn't very bright, so it's best to turn up the brightness. However, it reverts to the default every time they are disabled. I have to increase the brightness significantly every time I turn it on.6. The cables are too long. USB-C cables are 3 feet long. The screen is about 11 inches wide. There should not be a scenario where someone purchasing this product would require a cord longer than 1.5 feet (maximum). Because of this, you have about 2 feet of slack in the cables.
