I'm a little embarrassed to admit that I've bought this item a number of times. I had to learn after the first failure. My brother is not in the best of health and an electric blanket could have made his nights easier. I have bought this blanket more than once for him. Last year when ordering, I ordered one for my brother and also one for me. Mine didn't work that well and I had to send it back immediately. Unfortunately, I have not. Halfway through the winter, mine didn't work at all. And only then did I find out that his also failed after a short use. He should have complained to me, but he didn't. I was surprised and embarrassed that I gave him such a bad product on more than one occasion. For some reason I was expecting a better product from a well known brand. I didn't expect 100% early failure from Sunbeam. I could not recommend this product to anyone.
