Every car has a rear-view mirror, so it's the right choice for rental cars. Cell phone holders that require cup holders, air vents or a metal dashboard, I work with any rental car. I like this phone holder for its durable and portable design. It has compatibility issues as some car rearview mirror stems are too thick for the phone mount hook to snap. I circumvent this limitation by using a 12 inch Home Depot rubber bungie (swivel strap) that I wrap around the mirror mount and then attach the phone holder to the swivel strap. I know it's not stylish, but it works and it's better than traveling with a bulky phone holder that might not work.
