Review on FITINDEX Bluetooth Wireless Composition Smartphone by Justin Philemon

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Not too big, VERY accurate, Wi-Fi works

I wrote an angry review earlier that this scale wouldn't work on 5GHz networks. It turns out that (a) all 5GHz routers are 2.4GHz capable and you don't seem to need to slow down the network at 5GHz to use 2.4GHz; and (b) the scale found my wireless network without me having to reconfigure it; I think I just turned everything off and on again. The scale provides VERY reproducible measurements: repeated weighings reflect the same measurement and it doesn't cheat (like most cheap electronic scales do) by repeating the previous one. Weight if the repeated weight comes within 1 minute and a half of the last one. I found a review online that said measuring body fat is a much more expensive method, which I think is true. He considers urine and stool to be pure fat, so go to the bathroom before weighing. Your weight will be heavier in the evening than in the morning, so pick a time of day and stick to it. Wi-Fi saves time; I don't have to look for my phone and launch an app just to weigh myself. This may require some documentation - it's impossible to interpret all the numbers without more information; It's not obvious how you navigate through your data. But all I wanted was weight and body fat percentage, so that's fine. Complaint: Display goes out VERY quickly after weighing. I keep my head in the same position while weighing because I don't want to shake the scale. So I can either look at my feet expectantly and hurt my neck; or I can look straight ahead and then I have a 5 second window that I have to press to look down and see the measurements after they register but before they turn off.

Pros
  • Body composition scales
Cons
  • High price
