A few years ago I built a clock using a piece of wood I found and a cheap clock set from a local store (note the picture that says old). Since they only had one train available, I didn't attach any importance to it. After that was all done I thought about it a little more and decided the arms were a bit short but ok. Then I put the battery in and noticed that the movement made a noticeable ticking sound every time the second hand moved forward. I have never been satisfied with the end result. The mechanisms come with a 2 year guarantee and they have provided contact information should you need to use them. There is a protective film on each hand that must be removed. Be careful when pushing the plastic sleeve with your hands. I used my thumbnails by clicking each page together. Also, be careful not to touch your hands as you pass.
