I bought these after several unsuccessful purchases from Florsheim and other similar brands. I didn't have very high expectations as the price was comparable. I found the shoes quite comfortable but had to undo the straps to put them on. After wearing the shoes a couple of times and buying a good shoehorn, I found that I could put the shoes on without undoing the straps, but only if the shoehorn was used. That made me very happy and fulfilled my expectations of an inexpensive moccasin that also looks good. As I continue to wear the shoe and the initial stiffness subsides, I find that comfort and ease of use increase. At this point I'll probably order a second pair in case disaster happens to that pair. I recommend them, especially until you get to Allen Edmond's store. Give them time to relax, use a shoehorn and this product will do the trick for you.
