I use this foam on almost all of my disassembled rubber stamps. After trying the gray foam and printing the image on the back, I decided all the extra work wasn't worth the extra effort. I use this directly on rubber and have been very happy using the resulting dies on a Misty or Tim Holtz die platform. When you disassemble your matrices you will find that they come in different strengths. Sometimes they come out pretty thin so I just use the stamp's position. If the thickness isn't comfortable, I just use cardboard or paper look pads to get a good impression. I am very satisfied with the result.
