HDMI over Ethernet

Setup was very easy. I used it to send a cable TV signal over 50 feet of ethernet to a TV in another room. I did a test run before running the cable through the walls. The picture and sound quality was very good. I found 2 problems. First, the IR sensor failed to transmit the remote control of my cable box (Cisco #9865). It was able to work with my Samsung TV. The problem is the frequency used for the IR signal. I was lucky enough to have an RF remote that I could program. The second problem I discovered was after running the CAT 6 cable through the wall. I used a wall plate on both ends and then CAT 6 jumper cables from the wall to the TX and RX. The HDMI signal started to degrade and became invisible. I tried different patch cords but solved the problem by removing a patch cord and plugging it directly into a wire in the wall. It seems to me that the problem lies in the connections on the wall panels. I don't know if this works over a switch/hub. I recommend that you consider using direct triggered CAT 6 from TX to RX only. Other than that I have had no issues with the product and it works as advertised.
