ATTENTION! The first time I used a lantern with a UCO candle during a power outage, the lantern worked very well, it was lit from a candle, but after about 3 hours the candle burned out and was drowned in the wax. It took me an hour to remove all of the old paraffin that made up the candle that came with the lantern. Shame on UCO for sending such a bad candle when there are so many other substitutes. Luckily I saw a review from UCO on YouTube stating that you should use either citronella candles or beeswax to avoid aggravating cleaning issues after a single paraffin candle. I also ordered citronella and put it in and the lantern worked great for 9 hours instead of 3 or 4 like the one that came with the lantern. I don't think the other reviewers let the candle burn out enough. Only buy this lantern if you have beeswax or citronella candles.
