Hard to find features that are worth it

Overall - love it! I really struggled to find an auto start kettle. I make a french press in the morning and there are so many coffee makers that can be programmed to start at a specific time, but timed kettles are a lot harder to find. It's so nice to set a timer and wake up to brew coffee. It's such a small thing, but it really helps cut time in the morning. Now for the other pros and cons: Keep warm function: I wasn't sure I wanted this function to keep it simmering for an hour, but it's actually very nice when working from home. I can set it up so I'm busy with something at work and come back 40 minutes later and it's ready to go. My previous kettle had a keep warm function but it didn't keep a specific temperature, it was literally warm so it could cook faster. I prefer this. Lid. Once or twice the lid came off while I was pouring hot water. I'm gently holding the lid while pouring now, just like you would with a regular kettle, but I feel like it needs to be secured better for something boiling hot. It's not so common that I would consider it a major security issue. It was important to me to have a kettle with a large lid so that I can fill and rinse it easily, so the advantages outweigh the disadvantages for me. Timer - I just wanted to say how much I like the timer feature. However, it's a little cumbersome to set it by number of hours as I have to do math to estimate when I'll need it to start work the next morning. It would be nice if a clock was built in. Smell - There is definitely a plastic smell when you first open and use the product. It probably lasted a week or two. I even followed the directions to boil the vinegar and baking soda to get rid of the smell. I just ignored it and eventually it went away, even though it took longer than I wanted. If I actually made tea in the kettle myself, it might run out quicker, but I only use it to boil water. Temperature control - this was important to me as I like to drink hot water. The temperature drops to 104 degrees Fahrenheit, in case you're wondering. I've had it for 3-4 months now and haven't had any durability issues.
