I'm using this in an early 2015 MacBook with a 500GB Samsung EVO 970 NVME SSD. You must follow the instructions below for the hard drive to be found and working. Make sure to upgrade to High Sierra on the old drive to install newer firmware capable of working with NVME.2. Make a full backup on TimeMachine.3. Build the High Sierra installer on a bootable USB.4. Open up the MacBook and disconnect the battery while unplugging the drive, making sure both the adapter and the new SSD are secure. Finally, reconnect the battery before closing the case.5. Insert the installation USB stick from step 2 and press the select button while the machine boots up. After that, you can go to Disk Utilities to format your new drive. After formatting the drive, you can now restore it from Time Machine.
