I have some USB micro cables for my old Samsung phone. My new Pixel uses USB-C. With these adapters I can use old charging and data cables. The charging current seems a bit lower than the old phone, but it's difficult to compare the two and the phone charges fast enough for me. The data transfer is good and fast. Some of my USB micro cables are having problems with the adapter; one doesn't work at all. But the same cable gives me problems with other items as well; The problem is mechanical rather than electrical. Also, there are no markings on the adapters, so you have to guess which way to plug in the USB micro cable. Just don't force it. If you line it up correctly, it will snap securely into place.
