It costs money.
I didn't want to spend $50 on an ankle brace, but after a horrific sprain and possible avulsion fracture, it helped me recover. I've used a variety of braces over the years as a runner, but the construction of this one is amazing. I like the internal gel pads and the thick fabric offers excellent compression. It costs money. Comfortable enough to wear all day, I even sleep in mine.
