I like this flash. I used to have the exact same ones so I knew what I was buying. It has a power mode: off or full power because it is very expensive. It can take a long time. IT is very small so it can easily fit in your pocket. The problem I've always had is that the switch sticks out and easily turns on without knowing it, draining the batteries. My answer to this question is to file the switch flush with the back and then toggle it on and off with a fingernail, wire, wrench or stick or whatever.
