Great flash - incredibly low price

I use this flash with a Canon PowerShot XS120IS camera. Canon sells a remote flash for around $90. Cannon promises no more than a Polaroid. The Polaroid cost less than $10 and greatly expanded the range of my flash photography. He did everything I asked him to do. The flash and bracket also provide a good grip for holding the camera.

Pros
  • Dream come true
Cons
  • Easy maintenance

BOLTS ON BRACKET TOO SHORT! WILL NOT FIT CAMERA

I had to replace the camera's plastic shielding plate with Scotch 2228 tape to attach it to my camera. The screw is too short to fit in any camera without first doing so. The original "cushion" is too thick and the screw is too short to use more than 1 thread pitch. Replacing the pad gave me a working mount. Too bad you guys don't have QC handy. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS MOUNT OH THE FLASH IS OK!

  • Beautiful

Works best with flashes

This slave flash works very well. So far it has worked reliably when used with the old Nikon 3200 Coolpix compact camera. However, it doesn't have four power settings as the description says (or if it does, I couldn't find them and the seller doesn't reply to an email asking about it). It has four device sync settings based on how many times the camera flashes before actually exposing. I had to experiment to find the right setting, but it was easy enough. However, they do not change the power…

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • I have no particular complaints about it, everything is fine

Polaroid Slave Flash

Great little extra light, especially for the price. Gives a lot of light that can be tamed with diffusers etc. I think it could have a lot of potential. Universal slave settings: S1, S2, S3, S4. I will probably only use S1 and S2. The processing time is a bit slow. It takes about 3 seconds with the included battery. It can also be used as a regular flash. To get the right exposure you need to experiment. The included mount is almost useless. The only downside is that the flash is incorrectly…

  • Great overall performance

But how. Small problem (no flash for me)

I like this flash. I used to have the exact same ones so I knew what I was buying. It has a power mode: off or full power because it is very expensive. It can take a long time. IT is very small so it can easily fit in your pocket. The problem I've always had is that the switch sticks out and easily turns on without knowing it, draining the batteries. My answer to this question is to file the switch flush with the back and then toggle it on and off with a fingernail, wire, wrench or stick or…

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly

Great little slave flash

I bought 3 different versions of this flash for $9, $12 and $20. It was a $20 unit. All three appeared and played almost identically. Everything worked with my DSLR and two pocket cameras. There is a 4-position switch that syncs the flash with cameras that emit multiple flashes. The mounts were indistinguishable and a bit flimsy, but fully functional. You can attach them to the camera or to a remote control tripod or other device for side or back lighting. The one useful feature that was…

Pros
  • Pretty package

  • Big and bulky
