IKEA Targa Dresser Tips

If you have an IKEA Targa dresser, you will need these wedges sooner or later. Here are some tips: Order in bulk, you will need 6 or more wedges per drawer, that's at least 30 for a Targa tall dresser. Order multiple belt clips. See below. Order super glue, gel so it doesn't drip. You need this to hold them in place. You should buy three times as much glue as you think you will need. First glue the bottom of the drawer back into the grooves on the front and back of the drawer, then quickly insert the wedges with the glue on the bottom and back to fix them while the glue on the bottom of the drawer dries. Use belt clips to secure everything together until the glue sets. It may take several hours to fully dry. Wear old clothes and be prepared to have your fingers taped to wedges and drawers at least 8 times. When the glue is completely dry, insert screws into each wedge and secure fully into the wood. If you don't glue everything in place first, these wedges have no chance of staying in place, even with the screws. Order longer bolts than the ones that come with these wedges, they're just too short. Be careful not to use screws that are too long or you will drill through the front or back of the drawer. At the moment they get 5 stars, but only because of the extensive bonding. Let's see how well that holds up.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Unbelievable price
