Accuride 1029 Center Mount Slide: Premium Solution for Easy and Smooth Drawer Operation Review

With little DIY skill, replacing a wooden drawer slide can be a daunting task. However, on an old dresser whose glides were either broken or worn, they worked great once the glides were properly aligned and adjusted to the height of the drawer catch.

Our chest of drawers is 23 years old but too good to throw away as the drawer slides poorly. The box is double high and very difficult to fill. Hubby had to replace the inside of the cabinet with a small block of wood to make it work, but it's great that the drawer was replaced!

I spent over an hour fixing this in my daughter's problem box. When everything was aligned and working well, the drawer closed within a day. In the end I forcefully unscrewed it (nothing "soft" worked), but it still hangs closed. I've used them before and this one might be a bad batch but I'm tossing it and moving on to something more commercial.

This is a quality product - the end result was very good. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that the manufacturer needs to create one or more detailed installation videos for this product. perhaps with suggestions for different possible installation scenarios. Such videos might help if posted on YouTube or the manufacturer's website.

I thought we couldn't use a broken drawer in my very old dresser. It kept breaking because the ball bearings fell out. If you have small children who will push or pull the drawer down, consider double lining them up as they will get out of their lane with little effort when pulling the drawer out. . Very easy to install. I had never installed drawer slides before but needed a floor mount style which I could only find online so I ordered 4 of these.
