Review on πŸ“Ί Winegard Elite Outdoor HDTV Antenna – 70 Mile Range for VHF and UHF Channels by Norman Costello

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Winegard Elite VHF/UHF HDTV outdoor antenna. You get what you pay for. In the best case!

I recently installed this TV antenna in my system. I don't watch a lot of network TV. Having recently switched to internet-only access with my service provider, I wanted to find a way to connect LAN stations with an OTA signal. (over the air) I started with two different versions of inexpensive indoor flat antennas. The first could not receive VHF. Most stations broadcast on the UHF band, but New York ABC uses VHF. Another cheap antenna had old-school bunny ears. It could pull on ABC, but the picture was half-pixelated on all channels and the sound was sub-par. I decided to try outdoor antennas to see how much better they are. I chose Winegard Elite Outdoor VHF/UHF. Antenna HDTV. I also reviewed ClearStream 2 V. (high rating). They are similar in price and features. I prefer the Winegard look and feel. Winegard also has an app called TV SignalFinder. This is a very cool way to see where your cell towers are in relation to your location. This allowed me to point the antenna precisely at the towers and optimize the signal strength. Thought I might try Clearstream if I don't like Winegard. I didn't need it. Winegard provided an excellent reception. Image quality has gone from marginal (with flat internal antennas) to excellent at best! ABC reproduces high resolutions perfectly, as do all other channels. The sound is perfect. Huge difference. I am completely satisfied with this purchase and would highly recommend the Winegard Elite VHF/UHF Outdoor HDTV Antenna. It was very easy to assemble and easy to install on my roof. The bracket is very durable. I used a good quality RG6 cable to connect the antenna to the TV. Now I get 68 HD OTA channels for free. Everything is ready!
