Review on Professional Hair Cutting Scissors Barber Shears Set with Hair Thinning Kit – Complete with Black Storage Case by Melissa Vaughn

All in all a great product

Let me start by saying this is a solid product inside and out! First, the tools come in an organized black zip case with elastic straps inside to secure the contents. Not only is it convenient to have everything in one suitcase, but it also offers space for everything instead of jumping around freely. As for the actual product, the shears and profile shears themselves are fantastic quality. Strong metal and incredibly sharp! They're even light weight, which I prefer. The blue "knob" holding the mechanism together is a threaded screw with a washer inside. It's very easy to remove if necessary, but strong enough not to fall apart during a performance. Thinning scissors work exactly as you would expect: the comb's teeth are spaced evenly enough to thin hair, but not to remove large sections or lengths in one snip. The kit even includes a black cleaning cloth (similar to what you use to clean glasses or a phone screen) as well as a black comb as shown in the picture. This makes the set pretty complete and convenient for everyone in one purchase. My only complaint about this product is the small diameter of the tool finger holes. Someone may object that I have "sausage fingers" and therefore thick fingers. The grip holes of the tools are a bit small to fit my hand perfectly. The solution, however, is the blue fingerhole linings (see image) are simply inserts that can be easily removed. By taking them out, you get more space for your fingers to fit more comfortably. This worked for me, but may not work for clients with XL(?) fingers. I also prefer smooth metal inserts over plastic inserts, but that's just a minor preference. All in all a really good product and for the price you can't beat it! I recommend this if you're looking to start a haircut, are looking for an experienced barber/stylist, or just want to pretend you're Edward Scissorhands.

Pros
  • Comfortable handling thanks to the ergonomic design of the hair clipper.
Cons
  • Good but not great
