I bought a refurbished Arris SB6183 in February 2019 and in September 2019 it stopped working. That means I'm 4 months out of my 90 day warranty with this item so I'm just eating up the cost. The modem worked great when I first received it and has been reliable for 7 months. Today the Ethernet port on the back of the modem stopped working. While my service provider was able to contact the modem, send reset commands, and run speed tests, the modem itself did not connect to the outside world for other devices. I was lucky to have kept the old modem as I was able to plug it in and resume service immediately. I understand the risks involved in buying refurbished equipment and I believe the seller intended to offer a good product at a discount. Unfortunately, not all refurbished devices are created equal and in some cases the device will fail several months after the warranty has expired. I would not recommend this purchase as there is no way to guarantee that other modems will last longer.
