Review on HandAcc Thicken Safety Belt With Magnesium Alloy Connection Ring For Climbing, Rescue And Rappelling by Jeff Olson

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Buckle adjustment extremely difficult compared to other belts and harnesses I have owned

The buckles on the leg and two on the waste are very hard to adjust. You have to loosen and tighten any belt or harness every time you put it on or take it off, so this should be a simple process. With this belt it is very frustrating. Other harnesses I have owned are all very easy. One you tighten the strap, then slide it into a grove to attach. Others, you just pull tight, which is how I had hoped this one worked. After researching, I think these are speed buckles. I couldn't find any info on this specific belt. In unlocked position, loosening is reasonable, but tightening is a pain and wastes time.

Pros
  • These have been great. Used in the stand and then as part of tree saddle. Love them
Cons
  • The magnesium alloy connection ring, while strong and durable, may be more difficult to repair or replace in the event of damage or wear
