As the title says, you get what you pay for. I've only had it a month and today it's broken in two places, firstly the flap that holds the laptop to the shelf is cheap brittle plastic and one of the pins that holds it in place is broken broke off and fell off I picked it up, the laptop was detached, and when I turned the tray over to lower the metal bar holding the tray in place, one of the cheap plastic hinges broke. Now I know what you're probably thinking (because I often think the same thing when reading reviews like this myself). that I was being too rough on it or overusing the laptop pad (if possible lol); The answer is no, in fact I've only used it as a stand for the laptop I use as a desktop, a stand that has never moved since I've had it and has never been placed on my lap. That being said, it means this thing broke with the very minimum use it could have, other than not being used at all. I thought I would be frugal to buy this cheaper laptop cooling pad but now I have to buy another one so beware.
