I LOVE THIS CONTROLLER! This makes shooting much easier. I attached it to the pan of my Manfrotto 500AH and it works great! Build quality is solid and it works as expected. It takes quite a bit of zoom to get my Canon VIXIA HF G21 camcorder to zoom or pan at any speed, but at least it's not as sensitive as the camcorder controls. I know you can adjust the zoom sensitivity through the camcorder's menu, but I like it when the zoom speed is variable when needed, and this controller also allows for more precise zoom control. You can also use the start and stop button on the controller to start and stop recording. I haven't tried the power button yet, so I can't comment on that. All in all it was a great purchase. I would recommend this to anyone who wants easier and smoother zoom controls on their camcorder. There are disadvantages, but they are few. The cable that comes with the controller is a bit short and you may need to stretch it a bit if you have a swing arm on the left side of the tripod and your remote control is on the front right side of the camcorder. I'm left handed and I find the swivel bar works best for me on the left side. With this setup, the cable is slightly stretched at the base of the head of my tripod. Not critical, just something to consider. Also, the start/stop button isn't a raised physical button, but a button under a plastic "cover" (similar to the buttons on a refrigerator or dishwasher door). I assume the coating may crack or chip over time with frequent pressing. I record high school football games with my camcorder and often start and stop recording - I only record real games. My concern is that the number of times I press this button during a single game (probably around 100-150 times) may cause the lid to crack prematurely. Only time can tell. Finally, the price was a bit steep as others are on sale for a quarter of the price of this controller, but in my opinion the quality finish and feel are worth it. Manfrotto makes some of the finest products for your cameras and camcorders. So far this product has been amazing. This saved my shot from additional bumps and shakes when I controlled the zoom with my other hand. I highly recommend this product (or any other controller) if you are looking for the best zoom control. You can't go wrong!
