I cloned my laptop hard drive to this 480GB Intel SSD 520 series without any major problems. Unfortunately the Intel migration software couldn't see the drive (!?) so I used the Apricorn SATA Wire Adapter for the ASW-USB-25 (White) Notebook Hard Drive Upgrade Kit with the included EZ Gig IV software. Alternative software recommended by CNET includes the free EaseUS Disk Copy Home Edition or the free EaseUS Todo Backup programs for this purpose. The SATA to USB 3.0 adapter I use, Apricorn SATA Wire Laptop Hard Drive Upgrade Kit ASW-USB-25 (White), does not require a power adapter like the Vantec NexStar SATA 6Gb/s to USB 3.0 to -2.5 adapter /3.5/ 5.25" SSD (CB-SATAU3-6), which I have also used successfully. Since no AC adapter is used, Apricorn's instructions suggest closing all other USB devices before use unplug it to allow the USB port to supply enough power without problems. I did this and it worked great when cloning my internal hard drive to an Intel SSD. Here are some reviews of this CD that I found: 1. [ .] (February 2012) 2. [.] (May 2012) First place awarded Interestingly, the much cheaper Sandisk Extreme took second place.
