I placed this in a small bathroom within the recommended footprint/volume range for this unit. Ambient temperature is typically 78F, humidity in the rest of the home is 50-55%. but after a shower in the bathroom it's significantly higher (I don't have proper relative humidity). This device takes forever to empty something. I let it run for 6-8 hours (keeping the door closed to keep the moisture in) and it drew about 1 ounce of water out of the air. It's just not a good idea to run it on power/heat generation to extract a negligible amount of moisture. It also tips over very easily if you bump into it, spilling the tiny amount of water it drained. I see this is only effective for very small, wetter spaces.
