Review on ☕️ BLACK+DECKER CM0555B: Duralife Glass Carafe 5-Cup Coffeemaker in Black by Tina Miles

Revainrating 4 out of 5

It's brew-ti-ful! A decent coffee pot with no frills.

I like these little pots more than the K-cup design. My old 4 cup coffee maker died after about 10 years of use. It was the best I could find that suited my needs. I didn't want a fancy car with a clock and timer or a bunch of options. I don't want to procrastinate, I have to be a caffeine advocate. I wanted a small coffee pot that uses a hotplate with a glass teapot instead of a vacuum jug for a number of reasons. 1. With steel carafe. You can't see how much is left unless you go to the car and look in the pot. 2. Decanters never keep coffee hot for long. I've been using them for about 1-2 months and they work fine. The only issue I had was the lack of a check valve. the coffee doesn't stop flowing. It's a pain in the back for me because sometimes I just need to grab some of this beautiful black blood of life and I'm too impatient to let it run out. .and if you remove the pan, it drips onto the stove. but for less than 20€ I don't expect much. He does his job, I really like lattes! BENEFITS: • Quality build feels solid • Easy to set up and brews quickly • Heated platen (many 4 cups won't work) • Easy to clean • Doesn't leak if left with water overnight • Heats up quickly and at a good temperature • NO AUTOMATIC OFF, this keeps the coffee hot while it's on. CONS: • No shut-off valve, ie: the coffee flow doesn't stop when you remove the pot before it drips. .• If you lift the lid during brewing, steam may spray and hiss directly at you, but this is not dangerous.

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Very expensive
