I bought this bottle in early September for my brother who is an avid marathon runner. He had many water bottles and they all ended up in the trash for various reasons but mostly due to mold, unfortunately this bottle was no different, mold started to form between the silicone ring of the bottle, my brother tried everything to stop it. like putting it in the dishwasher, soaking in hot water and scrubbing, but it kept growing and deteriorating to the point where it was adding the bottle to its ever-growing pile of water bottle trash. Too bad considering the reviews for this product. I don't know if anyone else has had this problem, but it is clear that this product does not have antibacterial properties. I would not recommend this product if you don't mind drinking from water bottles that contain mold.
