Good quality product, the price is commensurate with the quality.

To begin, I contemplated switching out my Tamron 17-50 for a Nikon 16-35 or 17-55 zoom lens. After putting two pricey lenses through their paces, I arrived at a conclusion that differs from the norm. There is not as much sharpness as they write about it for his money, possibly for a constructive, but quite heavy, which may be due to the fact that 17-55 utilized does not have a stable picture in one corner while another corner has a lighter tone. At 16-35, the picture is more solid, but not quite enough to warrant paying such a high price for it, particularly given that both of these are focused. Both a Nikon 70-300 vr and a Tamron 17-50 are at my disposal. In the second place, I aimed for the middle ground or the golden mean. I accidently brought his attention to the shop window where the Nikon 16-85 vr was standing as it waited for me when he was ready to leave the store because he was dissatisfied with the results of the testing. After giving this lens a try, I was both pleasantly surprised and discouraged by the results. As soon as the first photo was taken, all of the images were perfectly even, free from any kind of light-dark boundaries, with outstanding clarity and really pleasant focal lengths; yet, as I laid down with the camera in my hand, I realized that "golden mean" was uniquely my. I came to the conclusion, both for myself and for others, that the pursuit of sharpness, to which the eyes quickly become used, distracts us from innovation and progress and ultimately leads to a race for lenses. It is therefore up to you, my dears, to determine if you want to develop your creative potential or whether you would rather continually pay for sharpness. If I were to be someone's source of inspiration for this lens, it would make me extremely happy.

Pros
  • Lightweight, great and solid picture, crisp enough, very pleasant focal lengths, fits well in the hand on the D90, stabilizer two mode warm tones, and everything is just right on top of it all.
Cons
  • The only thing that can be blamed for the shortcomings is the lens hood; it only stays in place sporadically and completely falls off when turned upside down. This one must have been given to me. The 70-300 vr was the result of this. Currently, on medium-sized lenses, there is a massive lens hood, which provides a clear and detailed vision at an increased cost.
