Works as described, happy with it

Have been using it for a few days and so far it's working great. Easy to set up and use, so I'm glad I can finally listen to podcasts through my car speakers. Nice that there are several ways to connect the media to the device: Bluetooth, an additional cable or an SD card. I've been using Bluetooth so far and haven't had any problems. The neck of the device is quite long and flexible, which is great because I can position it so that it doesn't get in the way of anything else. The front USB plug works great, charges my phone faster than just a car plug, so love that too. Haven't called through this device yet so can't comment on how well it works, but it seems simple enough. This unit obviously relies on having a free FM band which can be hard to find in some places, but I just googled open FM bands in my area and found a decent one. There is some hiss when the VHF band isn't entirely clear as expected, but everything came through fairly clearly. On longer journeys, you will probably have to switch to a different cleaner band at some point, since different stations are received at different locations. It's easy, just switch your car radio to another band and then use the channel button on your device to jump to that open channel. I turned the volume on the device all the way down and need to turn the device on. The radio volume also increased. I don't know why it's so quiet when the radio is at normal volume, but it's ok, just turn it up louder and remember to turn the volume down when you switch back to the radio. This is my only way of listening to my music through my speakers as my car is old and doesn't have bluetooth or an extra outlet (and frankly I'm too cheap to buy a brand new radio system for my car). I kick myself for not buying something like this sooner because I spend a lot of time in the car. Definitely recommended for those who have old cars.

Pros
  • Happy so far
Cons
  • Minor issues
