Review on 🚽 PUREPLUS Flushable Pre Filtration System for Backwashing Sediment by Peter Parks

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Nice looking but crappy schematic

I got the impression that they put more effort into making it look pretty than they put into solving functional problems. My main criticism is that there is no proper bracket for the top of the cabinet that attaches to the plumbing. Instead they have a cheap, heavy duty, notched plastic brace that holds them from the wedges on the bowl that are used with a wrench to unscrew. This is not the J-Element clamp shown in the manual. So when using the mount, you can never remove the bowl to clean or replace the filter. If you don't use the bracket it will hang on the pipe and any torque used to open it will try to break your pipes. I was tempted to give three stars but gave up. To be fair, another unit I picked up uses the exact same mounting pattern, but otherwise it's not quite as good. Of course, as far as I know, they come from the same Chinese factory. As for the scraper design, which was supposed to prevent opening, we'll see if it actually works, but I'm more worried about the possibility that it's a weak spot in the bottom of the bowl where the seal could fail. And because the entire base rotates, including the backwash valve, the drain hose cannot be permanently attached to it.

Pros
  • Tools and hardware
Cons
  • Some bugs
