Wow, that thing is fast. I can cook the minimum allowable amount (just over 8 ounces) in a minute. No joke. Since everything is made of stainless steel, you don't get an aftertaste of plastic or the like. I mainly use it for tea. The only thing I would like to say compared to my old one that broke (I don't remember the brand but it was also stainless steel) is that this thing was covered in gray spots on the underside the first time I used it it. . That surprised me. My old one hasn't faded over the years. I think it's a different type or grade of stainless steel. I did the trick with white vinegar and water, brought it to a boil and it was gone. So easy to fix, just didn't expect it to get dirty so quickly. After boiling water and some white vinegar, it's perfect again.
