Although the 25mm lens might seem like an unnecessary little brother to the next 28mm and 18mm lenses, I highly recommend it. This lens has the same solid feel and quality glass you've come to expect from Zeiss. I actually think it's the perfect compromise. Its width is sufficient for most applications. If you want something wider, you'll probably be looking at a 10-15mm lens anyway. And if you want a 28mm view, just move the camera closer to the subject. I know how ridiculous this sounds, but I'm happy with my decision to pay for 25 and drop 28 and 18. I now use my 25 on almost every shoot. Together with the 35, 50 and 85 lenses it completes a solid set of lenses.
