Review on Wileosix Bicycle Stem Top Cap Holder for Garmin/Wahoo Element Bolt Mount – Bike Stem Mount by Kevin Gunnmann

The item itself is not bad, the aluminum part is well made and fits my MTB stem snugly. It is designed for hex or pan head screws and I was able to reuse the one that came with my bike (pan head). The problem was the plastic insert, the actual Garmin-compatible mount. I was able to insert my Garmin correctly, but it just wouldn't turn into the locked position with normal effort. I didn't want to risk damaging my GPS, so I examined it and found the problem was that the insert was too thick, preventing the protrusions on the GPS from sliding into their slots on the mount. I took a chance and turned the plastic insert over to 400 grit sandpaper and sanded it a bit. That was all it took for it to work perfectly, so in the end I'm happy with my purchase, but not everyone will (and should) make that effort, hence the 3 star rating.
