Wish they were more durable

They protect well until they stop. This is from the point of view of a hobby mechanic who has been wearing latex gloves of the same thickness but much more durable for decades. Perhaps nitrile is not as resistant to solvents/gases/grease components as latex? The first hole/crack appears within the first 10 minutes of operation. Switching to a thicker model may be the solution, but I'm afraid the material is to blame. Wrong usage? So why do I find them in all auto parts and repair shops?
