Was hoping the $200 stabilizer would be enough. I don't have the budget for a $500 stabilizer, but I don't have a $6,000 lens either. I am very happy with the combination of the GH800 Carbon Fiber with the Nikon 200-500mm f/5.6. It comes with an ARCA compatible mounting plate. For my use I have a longer one which is more suitable. This provides smooth and stable support for the bird in flight, which suits my needs. No alignment problems. Not much to argue with, this is a fairly basic device at a very good price.
