This thing works great right out of the box. I also have a (much more expensive) Weber iGrill2 that costs about $100 more than this model. Solis even surpasses Weber iGrill in some categories. For example, I have found that the Bluetooth connection between my phone and Solis is MUCH stronger than the Bluetooth connection between my iGrill and my phone. For me it was a big deal. Obviously my grill is outside so a strong bluetooth connection is really nice if you want to be inside while doing something else. However, the issue I have is that the sensors are giving wild readings that are 30-50 degrees Fahrenheit off the actual temperature. . When I plug in a new sensor, I get accurate readings (32 degrees in ice water, 70 degrees in my temperature controlled house, etc.), but after 3-5 uses of smoking or light grilling, the sensors give inaccurate readings. I don't want to buy new sensors multiple times a year, so this is an issue for me. I called the customer service number listed on the documents I received, but my call was outside of business hours. I left a voice message with customer support that included information about my product, issues I encountered, and my contact information, and I never received a response from the company.
