Best toy of the summer and a great way to make friends

My son wanted a "rocket set" for his 5th birthday but couldn't quite figure out what he wanted By that I meant I had to do some research. me to. I have a few reservations about this and I'll get to them, but there are a lot of great things about this toy. 1) We can constantly launch this rocket to about 4 floors. It makes a great rocket sound and takes off, well, like a rocket. It's a blast, a huge performer. You know how you worry that in practice everything won't be as cool as it's advertised? It's much harder! It's very exciting every time. 2) Scientific method. We hypothesized whether more or less water would increase it, then discussed how to measure it and what environmental factors (wind) might affect the results. The brain works while we are having fun. 3) I can't think of a better toy for making new friends. Every time we start it in our playground, all the kids and some parents get involved, ask questions, want to get involved. We form starter teams, construction teams, tank teams, etc. This is how our boy got to know some kids who will be in his kindergarten class this week. Thanks to this toy he will go to school with some friends from his class. I can't ask for more from a toy! Now some adjustments and warnings: I'm a road cyclist. Road bikes have smaller valve stems than regular bikes and things like cars and cars. So I have pumps for both standards but assumed it was designed for a standard bike pump valve. The valve that comes with the rocket is too small to use with a standard pump, but we get a better option with a road bike pump (Presta valve). The rocket is launched by pressurizing the pump and water, so this is very important. The Presta pump is still leaking some air. I have a kid who holds the joint when we start, but we still lose a little air from it. This works for us, but could be implemented better. I may work on changing ours at some point. I'm sure you could get this to work even with a standard pump, but it might need some tweaking. Overall, this is an amazingly fun, safe, and discreetly educational toy that has brought children together and made new friends. all for $20. i can't win
