The best purchase in recent times. I love that this sock is stiff and has some weight so I can kick it off the back of the boat and pretty much forget about it. It starts to sink and fill up almost immediately and pulls through the dropline easily. For my purposes I use an 8 foot rope with snaps on each end and a loop tied in the middle of the rope. I attach carabiners to the stern eyes on the boat and then use another carabiner to attach the sock strap to the loop on the rope. This allows me to keep the toe off the motor and center it on the back of the boat. In 15-20 mph winds, my 16-foot fiberglass center console with a single 54-inch motor maintains an ideal drift speed of 0.4-0.6 mph. Sock.
