Works well! on Hunting & Fishing

A bit pricey but works very well. I also have a set of fishermen and now they look like worn jeans - all in tatters. This 48-inch Magnum is much more reliable and slowed my 18.5-inch center console well in 17-20 mph winds and rough sea conditions.

Great for trolling

Bought two of these for my 22ft boat. Even though the packaging says not to use them for trolling brakes, that's exactly what I do with them. I have 260 hp in/out and the slowest I could troll was 2.5-3.0 mph. With two sea anchors out I'm towing at 1.5-2.0 mph. Seems to be holding up well. Easy to install and easy to reset.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Mostly fine but...

sometimes the demolition was checked sometimes not. I checked out the Drift sock and noticed that one seam unraveled completely on the first use in less than 10 minutes. The return date has already passed as I don't go fishing every day. I assume LIndy will fix this, if not I'll let you all know.

Pros
  • GOLS certificate
Cons
  • The packaging is ugly

For hunting and fishing

The best purchase in recent times. I love that this sock is stiff and has some weight so I can kick it off the back of the boat and pretty much forget about it. It starts to sink and fill up almost immediately and pulls through the dropline easily. For my purposes I use an 8 foot rope with snaps on each end and a loop tied in the middle of the rope. I attach carabiners to the stern eyes on the boat and then use another carabiner to attach the sock strap to the loop on the rope. This allows me…

Cheap Design

I was very disappointed in this product after reading the good reviews about Lindy gear. Problem number 1 - buoy. It's cheap, lightweight Styrofoam that disposable refrigerators are made of and doesn't last very long. Worse, the foam is painted with a very cheap orange paint that's sticky and peels off everything. When I took it out of the box the 3 inch section was sticking and peeling off. I took it on a boat and it got too close to the life jacket and the paint got on it and ruined it. A…

54 inches on our 23 foot walk increased our catch!

Only been using this for 3 weeks but I have noticed a significant increase in catches from our Fluke in the West Long Island Sound. 54 inches slows our 23 foot walkaround to that magical speed of about 1 knot in typical windy conditions. Bought a $7 6ft 1" tow strap from Revain and a large stainless steel carabiner to attach it. The loop on the strap works well with boat cleats, and a turn or two around the cleat adjusts the length. I have a piece Polythene foam used as a float from an old…
