Well made but probably won't work with 730 Record

Update: I was able to get this foot to work on my 730 Record but without the twin needle. I was able to sew with a straight stitch and eventually learned to sew with a zigzag, but so far no luck with a twin needle. I've also had the same experience as previous reviewers of my needle hitting the sole when the presser foot is up, so pulling up the bobbin thread has to be done with the presser foot down. I also had a few issues with the presser foot preventing the presser foot stroke from fully engaging. All in all, buying this leg for 730 Records is still risky. I bought this walker leg about 18 months ago for my old 730 Record as it and its contemporaries are listed as 'fit'. As another reviewer noted, this will NOT work on a vintage 730 record! I can put it on and it moves like it should, BUT it doesn't catch the bobbin thread on a zig zag stitch, only on a straight stitch. This is very disappointing as I was hoping to use it for sportswear where the seams get very rippled on the sewing machine and of course sports jerseys require zigzag stitches, but I cannot use this foot effectively for this purpose. Unfortunately, real barrel feet with thick pins (needed for my 730 Record, although countless sellers insist thin pins work, but they don't!) are as rare as hen's teeth, so I guess I'll just use my serger. With both this foot and the real thin-pin walking feet, the 830s seem much more forgiving and take both with no problem, but if you're after the 730 Record I wouldn't recommend it. Well done, just doesn't work :/
