Review on Buha Liquid Luster Restorative Facial Oil - Ultra-Nourishing 21 Botanical & Antioxidant Face Skin Care, Hydrating For Dry Skin, Non-Toxic & Cruelty-Free, 30 ML by Joe Roberts

Leaky Packaging; Smells Like Citrus and Pine Furniture Polish

What Is It?The Buha Liquid Luster Restorative Facial Oil comes in a 1oz white glass dropper bottle and sells for $64 (when I got it). Reasonable price point considering this facial oil is a blend of 21 botanicals, per the sales post. But I don't think it would be suitable for sensitive skin types because of some essential oils in the product. I prefer using this on my body vs. my face. Regardless, I recommend you patch test this prior to use (on the face especially) to ensure safety and suitability. For user reference, I have mature (over 40), reactive/sensitive, acne-prone, congestion-prone, combination skin. The Packaging:The white glass bottle is nice and stylish, likely protecting the oil from excess light exposure. But Buha needs to reconsider the dropper's design. The oversized collar (see images) results in a lot of residue accumulating in the bottle's neck (especially in transit) and results in seepage. That is what happened to mine. Per the included images, you can see oil staining on the box from where my product leaked. The Formula:The facial oil has an intense blend of standard and essential oils like frankincense, grapeseed, evening primrose, cypress, bergamot, avocado oil, turmeric, sweet almond oil, sea buckthorn fruit oil, lemon, and lavender oil - to name a few. It seems very nourishing. Ideally, facial oils would come last in your skincare routine to seal in the accumulated moisture from the other serums and creams applied beforehand. Oils don't inherently hydrate as much as they help retain moisture in the skin. The Scent:Because of the copious amounts of different oils, we end up with a very citrusy, pine tree scent that I liken to high-end furniture polish—light, not unpleasant, but not something I want to slather onto my sensitive face. The Texture:Lovely, lightweight, straw-colored oil that goes on runny and absorbs quickly. Leaving behind a hint of a sheen and light piney scent. Any more than the suggested 4-5 drops, though, and the application does become greasy and heavy, taking longer to absorb into the skin.I hope this review was helpful.

Pros
  • With consistent use, Buha's Liquid Luster Restorative Facial Oil can improve the texture, tone, and overall appearance of your skin, giving you a more youthful, glowing complexion
Cons
  • May not provide adequate sun protection and should be used in addition to a sunscreen
