An excellent amplifier if you stick to the technical specifications.

A boss. The best way to describe this brand is like Billy Mays among the power amplifiers. It's like the marketing department is holding the boss engineers hostage with a gun in one hand and a thesaurus in the other. Before deciding on this amp it is very important that you visit the chef's website and read the current specs for this or any of his amps. The boss has a terrible habit of promoting excellence so prominently that the average consumer can't help but get lost in it. "Peak" is the power your amp produces on the day you win a Powerball, discover an Ebola cure, marry a supermodel and cross the finish line in your new Ferrari. RMS is the performance that the Boss engineers write on a report and pass to the aforementioned dummy in the marketing department. In other words, that's exactly what you can expect from this monoblock amp during your 9 o'clock drive. And the RMS power of this amp is quite generous for the money - 500 watts. I hook up a single 12" Polk 360W RMS subwoofer to this amp and it works great. Of course, there are a number of things to consider both inside and outside of the design of this Boss amp. For example, the fact that it's passively cooled, meaning the right drivers and cables are crucial to preventing overheating shutdowns on a hot summer's day. Boss controls include a bass boost switch, remote bass volume control, and adjustable high/low pass filter. All of these grips are very comfortable. easily accessible as they are not sunk. That's important because the maximum output of the amplifier is closely related to your ability to set and adjust the crossover point in conjunction with the rest of your speakers. This amp isn't as bulky as, say, an MTX. That means you can install it almost anywhere you can drill a hole with a self-tapping screw. h amp, so it's much, much less labor intensive to install than installing something like, say, Kenwood. Finally, you'll get a cool "BOSS Audio" decal to put on your car.
