Review on πŸ” Enhanced Beck Arnley 044-0331 Automatic Transmission Filter by Marquel Rubio

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good fit and product quality

Gasket and filter good aftermarket quality. Installed on Toyota Highlander 2005 V6 AWD. The original transmission pan gasket is made of cork. It's rubber and fits as expected. In general, this is a very good kit at a price several times lower than at the dealer. A few notes: 1). 18 10mm transmission bolts. Most of them are also within easy reach, but some are located just above the frame cross member and are recessed. Less than 3/4 inch work surface. I have https://www.amazon.com/Platinum-Tools-8X10MM-RTCH-PLT-99658/dp/B00BI2C0XY/ref=sr_1_1?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1548358601&sr=1-1&keywords=Platinum+8X10MM+XXL+ key REV+FLX, which allowed me to access the screws. I also removed the driver's side front wheel for more clearance. Alternatively, you can loosen the gearbox mounts and raise the engine to clear room to do the work, but if you have to do that, just change the gearbox oil and don't worry about the filter. 2). Get a drain plug washer from NAPA for $0.70 or from a dealer. Prices vary.3). Apply blue threadlocker (242) to 18 10mm screws. I bought Blue GEL screw lock from HomeDepot. According to the Toyota Highlander repair manual, you need to apply threadlocker to the bolts, but you don't need to apply anything to the gasket. Torsion gear drain plug.5). Pour in fluid and check for leaks. According to the operating instructions, 3.7 liters of gear oil are required. I used over 4.5 liters. Not sure why.
