I bought this scale solely to brew coffee in a six glass Chemex. My ratio is 50g coffee to 700g water. This works well if you're willing to pay $50 for a regular scale to measure something static (tested with calibration weights). However, this is not suitable for brewing coffee, which is the main function of this scale. I've experienced two things that make this scale bad. First, the tare function is not constant. Place the jar on the scale. Click on the container. Add coffee grounds. 50 g is displayed. Remove the bowl to shake the ground coffee until smooth. Now the scale shows a different weight. The difference is small, but why pay so much for an inaccurate scale (when accuracy is in the name)? Second, the scale does not work as described. The weight doesn't increase in 0.1 increments, so I could never be sure the displayed weight was correct. Again, that's probably half a gram difference, but if you're willing to shell out that much money for your coffee on a kitchen scale, you're probably a detail-oriented maniac like me. The touchscreen works, but most of the time it's fiddly and unresponsive.
