Not very accurate and the battery drains during use

I only bought this scale to make coffee, I used to have a Hario V60 scale. This is described as being accurate to 0.1g, but is closer to a quarter of a gram at best, and you'll get different readings if you lift the same weight and put it back on the scale. But other than that, my biggest problem with these scales is that when the battery dies, the screen shows "lo" for 5 seconds and then turns off in the middle of use, so everything I'm brewing ends up not having a chance to break up. it's…

Two units with faulty displays; Had to return both

*Updated November 10, 2021: My original order and replacement had faulty displays right out of the box. I took photos and videos of the second scale. OXO, where's your quality control? --- *Feedback on my first order: This scale displayed "0g" with no decimal. I wasn't expecting high accuracy after reading previous reviews. But I bought it for its subgram display so I could at least see that adding a small amount of yeast, for example, increases the recorded weight. I've pressed the power…

Great for pull coffee - 4.5/5 stars

I did a little research to find a great kitchen scale for pull coffee and decided on the new Oxo scale for the following reasons. Other scales I've reviewed weren't as accurate (most only show 1g increments), were too expensive for the same features as the Oxo, or had problems breaking after a short time, poor construction, etc. That's why I like this scale. Oxo so far (a few weeks of use): Pros: Built-in timer Accuracy 0.1g Detachable rubber pad Quick start (3 seconds) Effective touch buttons…

Inaccurate Scale on Meters & Scales

I bought this scale solely to brew coffee in a six glass Chemex. My ratio is 50g coffee to 700g water. This works well if you're willing to pay $50 for a regular scale to measure something static (tested with calibration weights). However, this is not suitable for brewing coffee, which is the main function of this scale. I've experienced two things that make this scale bad. First, the tare function is not constant. Place the jar on the scale. Click on the container. Add coffee grounds. 50 g is…

Pros
  • A Sea of Positive Emotions
Cons
  • A Long Time Ago

Summary: If like me you only weigh beans (less than 500g), buy the much cheaper and more accurate Fuzion digital kitchen scale. This OXO is kind of a dead end. I've been trying the Fuzion for a few months now and for about $13 I'm pretty happy with it. Original OXO test report: I only use it to weigh beans. If I put a bean container in with the tar the weight could be in the 0.5 range. And this can change over time. For example if I take it off and put it back on it weighs the same maybe 4…

Pros
  • There's something to it

Don't expect accuracy.

I usually love OXO kitchenware. I have a lot of her stuff in the kitchen. I bought this at the same time as their temperature controlled kettle which is amazing by the way. This scale? Not as much. First, if you want an approximate weight, that's fine. But if you're buying the scale to walk around the stadium, it's probably just as good as looking at it. But I try to make the perfect mug every day. To the point I even made a spreadsheet to track my beer. I want to keep an eye on everything as…
