When I first got them, a string of lamps wouldn't work no matter how long I left them charging in the sun. A few days later when it didn't work and the other thread worked the day I opened the box, I contacted the company about a faulty string of lights. They responded almost immediately and offered to send me a replacement and said I didn't have to return the faulty kit. I got a replacement two days later and they replaced both the string of lights and the solar panels, not just the broken one. The second set of lights worked great as soon as I took them out of the box. They look wonderful and my little ones love that their swings light up and sparkle at night. My only gripe is that it's hard to tell if the solar panel is on or not the first time. The power switch is an on/off switch, but that was easy to figure out when moving the solar panel in the dark.
